A 24-hour mountain bike race wrapped into a weekend-long mountain bike festival. Hardcore racers tackle the singletrack and carriage roads. Families enjoy the festival games and 24 Minutes of Great Glen kids’ race. And everyone enjoys the atmosphere!

This year’s theme for the 24 and 12 Hours of Great Glen is a Beach Party—so come on down in your best Hawaiian shirt and sandals and enjoy the cool tropical breezes that can only be found here in Pinkham Notch in summertime, where the livin’ is easy! You can enjoy this tropical whirlwind for the full 24 hour classic or make it a 12 hour riptide ride! Now in its 18^th year, this year’s “Beach Party” theme will add its own unique flavor to the always entertaining costumes. You don’t need to “hang ten” in a speedo or bikini to participate, but don’t be surprised if others are riding that wave!

There’s a full slate of activities planned for the weekend, including: The 24 Minutes of Great Glen Kid’s Race; the 24 Quacky Duck Race (to benefit the MWV Children’s Museum), a giant sandbox, evening bonfire, and lots more going on under the festival tent. These and other events are subject to change—one never knows what the tide will bring in!

More than $7,000 in cash and great prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories, including: Performance awards, Camp Site Award, Team Costume Award, Fastest Lap Awards and more. A bike raffle (must be present to win) and Cruiser Class raffle will also be held.

There will be a Kid’s Movie Night, free kayaking on the Great Glen Pond and both the Glen View Café and Outfitters Shop will be open for business as part of the Expo under the tent.

Whether you like to swim with or against the tide, this year’s 24 Hours of Great Glen will be your chance to show what you’re made of—ride our wave of friendly competition! Show us your best side—don’t feel like a 98 pound weakling—play with us, where the current is strong!
